Michael Angelo’s Gourmet Foods Inc., is recalling Frozen Prepared Meals Due to Possible Listeria Contamination

Michael Angelo’s Gourmet Foods Inc., maker of Michael Angelo’s and Rao’s Made for Home frozen foods, has been notified by one of our ingredient suppliers that the chicken used in two of our frozen varieties is the subject of a recall due to the potential presence of listeria. After investigation and consultation with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and out of an abundance of caution, two frozen varieties are being removed from sale.

The varieties that are subject to the withdrawal are:

1. Michael Angelo’s Grilled Chicken Piccata with Penne Pasta 26 oz. (UPC 037363987587)

2. Rao’s Chicken Alfredo 8.4 oz (UPC 747479300063)

Consumers who have purchased these items are urged not to consume these products and to dispose of them or return the items to their local store for a full refund.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider.
