FSIS PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT FOR POSSIBLE E. COLI O26
On April 27, 2022, FSIS issued a public health alert that originated from a consumer submitted sample of ground beef that was produced on December 16 and 17, 2021.
Laura’s Lean Beef WAS NOT the source of the O26 finding, however it was identified on the list of implicated products as it was produced on the same date(s) as the implicated product.
These products were manufactured at Establishment 31805 which is a JBS, USA processing facility that packages finished goods for Kroger stores in the Pacific Northwest.
While there are no indications Laura’s Lean Beef products associated with this public health alert are not safe and the product is no longer available on retail shelves, consumers should follow the guidance provided by USDA-FSIS in the public health alert. Any consumer who may have purchased the identified products and later froze these products should dispose of the frozen product and are encouraged to contact us at 1-800-487-5326 / 1-800-ITS-LEAN or via email at customers@lauraslean.com for a refund and coupons for future purchases.
