Dear Valued Customer,
I am writing to notify you Kimberly-Clark has initiated a recall on a limited number of Cottonelle® Flushable Wipes as the bacterium, Pluralibacter gergoviae, was detected during product testing.
This bacterium is a cause of infection in humans, can be an opportunistic pathogen, and is part of the normal intestinal flora. Individuals who have a weakened immune system, suffer from a serious preexisting condition, have been treated surgically, or belong to another sensitive group of persons are at particular risk of infection.
The recall is limited to specific products manufactured between February 7, 2020 – September 14, 2020 and distributed between February 14, 2020 – September 28, 2020. A list of specific lot codes can be found attached. No other Cottonelle® products have been affected by this recall, and Cottonelle® Flushable Wipes with lot numbers not included in the recall are safe to use.
You can identify this product by looking for the specific lot numbers found on the bottom of the package. The affected Cottonelle® Flushable Wipes contain the following SKU numbers AND lot numbers. Lot numbers can be found at the end of this document.
