Kodiak Park City Recalls Certain Waffle Products Due to the Potential for Listeria Monocytogenes Contamination

Kodiak Park City is notifying customers because their contract manufacturer, TreeHouse Foods, in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)/ Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), is conducting a voluntary recall of certain lot codes of 3 SKUs of Kodiak frozen waffle products listed below due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The TreeHouse Foods recall encompasses numerous products from dozens of customers across the United States and Canada, including the Kodiak items listed below.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

This issue was discovered through routine testing at the TreeHouse Foods’ facility in Brantford, Ontario, Canada.

There have been no confirmed reports of illnesses or injuries linked to the recalled products.
