4 Ways to Brew Coffee

Brewing coffee is an art, as there are so many ways to brew coffee nowadays. Whether you are new to coffee or have plenty of experience, here’s 4 ways to brew coffee you may not have considered.

Moka Pot

If you’re looking for an easy way to make espresso without buying the expensive machine, the Moka Pot is your new friend. This handy little pot is very popular among European and Latin American households and is often used around breakfast time. Simply add finely ground (espresso ground) coffee and water to their respective reservoirs and place on the stovetop. When the water heats up the built pressure forces the water upward passing through the beans and into the top reservoir. The result is flavorful, rich espresso. Add sugar and frothed Full Circle Market Organic milk to make a Cuban café con leche.

Cowboy Coffee

One of the easiest ways to brew coffee, with no specialized equipment required! Simply add very coarse coffee grounds to a pot of water and bring to a low boil for a few minutes. Then remove from heat for about a minute to allow the coffee grounds to fall to the bottom and pour into your cup. Any heat source is fine, even a campfire! We recommend about 2 tablespoons grounds per 8 fluid ounces water but, they may be adjusted depending on your preferences. Expect a well-balanced cup of coffee, just like you would when you brew at home. And don’t forget to bring your favorite Wide Awake Coffee Co. creamer!

Cold Brew

Cold brew coffee has a smooth and robust flavor plus, it is easy to make! All you need to do is combine room temperature water with coarsely ground coffee into a container with a lid. Allow the mixture to sit for a few hours or overnight depending on how strong you’d like it. When it’s steeped long enough strain out the grounds and serve over ice. Cold brew is low in acidity and has a subtly sweet flavor because the beans are never heated. To finish off we recommend you top it off with Stater Bros. half and half creamer.

Note: Please store in the fridge after you strain out the grounds.

French Press

Using the French Press is super simple, and the result is distinctly flavored, and bold coffee. To brew add medium coarsely ground coffee into the French Press and top with hot water (we recommend 200°F). Allow the coffee to steep for 3-4 minutes and then push the filter press down and serve.

Note: If the coffee steeps too long it may become bitter.
