Learning that a child has cancer is one of the most devastating pieces of news a parent can ever receive. According to the American Childhood Cancer Organization, more than 15,000 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer each year.
Stater Bros. Charities is proud to partner with City of Hope to raise funds for pediatric cancer treatment and education programs in Southern California. From May 10th through May 21st, all Stater Bros. Markets locations will be collecting monetary donations to support the needs of infants, children, teens, and families during hospitalization and outpatient treatment at City of Hope.
We’re grateful for the support of our customers and teammates, who have helped us provide pediatric cancer patients with comfort and support while undergoing treatment. But the fight isn’t over. Together, we can make an even greater impact.
Help us raise critical funds by purchasing a $1 or $5 mobile during checkout at your local Stater Bros. Market, donating online, or by simply texting KIDS4HOPE to 41444. Every donation will help make a difference in the lives of these brave young fighters. Donate today!
Funds raised will support pediatric programs, including:
- Child-Life Services helps children prepare and understand the procedures they’re undergoing and how they will feel, easing children’s anxiety and giving them the confidence to cope with treatment.
- Patient Navigation provides a liaise between patients and their medical team while providing guidance and support to patients and their families.
- Academic Advocacy provides cancer survivors from preschool to college support to meet educational milestones during and after treatment.
- Pediatric Transportation provides families with transportation assistance, including gas cards and taxi vouchers, ensuring that every child will make critical medical appointments.
