4th of July Party Ideas and Supplies

4th of July Summer BBQ Food Featuring Hamburgers, Hotdogs, and Chips and Dip

The 4th of July is an exciting patriotic holiday full of food, fireworks, and celebration. It’s the perfect holiday to celebrate with friends and family. If you’re hosting a 4th of July party, here are some ideas to make your party the best it can be!

Grill out and chill out!

You can never go wrong with a cookout. Stock up on hamburgers, hotdogs, and brats, and get the grill going! For some nutritious variety, add veggies to the grill and make kebabs with your favorite vegetables. Serve on top of 4th of July-themed plates and napkins to keep everything on theme!

Celebrate with festive fruit

Take advantage of fresh summer fruit and stay on the color theme with Independence Day. One great idea is Star-Spangled Fruit Kebabs. Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out white and red fruits such as watermelon and pineapple. Then, place blueberries or blackberries between each fruit on a stick for red, white, and blue kebabs. Another way to use fruit and stay on the color theme is with Fourth of July Pie! Apple, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, and rhubarb are excellent themed pie options.

Decorate patriotic cookies

Cookie decorating is fun for the kids, and tasty for the adults. Keep the kids entertained and set out colored sprinkles, frosting, and plain cookies and cupcakes to decorate flags, fireworks, and more.

Make a celebratory playlist

Before the party starts, ask your guests to add their favorite songs to a party playlist. This will bring a sense of collaboration to the party before it even begins. Make sure to keep some of the songs on the theme, with classics such as God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood, Party in The USA by Miley Cyrus or Firework by Katy Perry.

Don’t forget the Independence Day festivities!

Set up yard games like ring toss, cornhole, volleyball, or horseshoe for some friendly competition. Another idea is to tie-dye red, white, and blue T-shirts for a festive Fourth of July souvenir! Finally, when it gets dark, pass out sparklers and themed glow sticks. Remember to supervise the kids while using these items, and have fun!
