MEDIA ALERT-STATER BROS. CHARITIES DONATES $5,000 TO GARDEN OF ANGELS

Stater Bros. Charities Donates $5,000 to Garden of Angels in Honor of Organization's Founder, Debi Faris, and to Bring Awareness to the Safe Surrender Law.


San Bernardino, California (Monday, March 30, 2009) - This donation is held in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Stater Bros. Charities Dave Stockton Heroes Challenge

WHAT:
Stater Bros. Charities donates $5,000 in honor of Debi Faris, Founder and Executive Director of the Garden of Angels Foundation. It is the hope of Stater Bros. Charities that this donation will help bring awareness to the newly established Safe Surrender awareness week.

Mady, one of the children whose life was saved, will be at this check presentation. Mady was dropped off at Fire Station #174 seven years ago, the very same year this law went into effect.

WHY:
Stater Bros. Charities is committed to caring for the communities Stater Bros. Supermarkets is privileged to serve. As part of this, a significant portion of Stater Bros. Charities contributions are donated to organizations that care for children’s welfare. Garden of Angels is an organization that exemplifies this goodwill under the compassionate leadership of Founder and Executive Director, Debi Faris.

About Safely Surrendered Baby Law
The Safely Surrendered Baby Law (also known as the Safe Haven Law) allows a parent or person with lawful custody to surrender a baby confidentially to a designated Safe Surrender Site, without fear of arrest or prosecution for child abandonment.
