Stater Bros. has a long-standing tradition of serving Southern California families and part of our heritage has always been to give back to every community we are privileged to serve.  In the past 10 years alone, Stater Bros. Markets has donated over $100 million back into the community where our customers and employees live and work.

Our philosophy has always been:
“We don’t just do business in a community …
we are part of the community.”

Blood Drives

More than 500 donations of lifesaving blood are needed each day to meet emergency and ongoing patient needs in Southern California. In fact, every 3 to 4 seconds of every day, someone needs a blood transfusion.
Stater Bros. is proud to partner with LifeStream Bloodbank by hosting monthly Blood Drives at select supermarket locations to assist in meeting these ongoing needs.   To date, Stater Bros. has helped save over 1,000 lives.

Please visit our events page to find a list of monthly drives.

Chamber of Commerce

Stater Bros. is a proud Chamber of Commerce member in every city where a Stater Bros. Supermarket is located. Stater Bros. realizes the importance of community involvement and that businesses need to work together as one unit to improve the local economy. Stater Bros. commitment goes beyond a financial investment to include a personal interest in all the communities we are privileged to serve.

Community Events and Parades

Stater Bros. has a restored 1948 Diamond T Tractor-Trailer and a full-size Parade Truck that are available for participation in community events and parades in the communities served by Stater Bros. Supermarkets. For information on truck participation, please feel free to contact the Stater Bros. Public Relations Department at (909) 733-5038 or publicrelations@staterbros.com.

Former NFL Wide Receiver Mark Seay

Stater Bros. is proud to employ Former NFL Wide Receiver Mark Seay as our Community Relations Representative. In his position with Stater Bros., Mark is available to deliver his personal message of perseverance to youth groups and community organizations throughout the communities served by Stater Bros.

Mark’s 30-minute program consists of a 12-minute DVD video and an additional 15- to 20-minute live presentation, which can be geared to each specific organization. The video profiles Mark’s remarkable football career and the obstacles he faced along the way. Mark will then spend an additional 15 to 20 minutes on the discussion points that are most important to your organization. Areas of special emphasis include: Importance of Education, Setting Goals, Not Giving up on your Dreams, Consequences of Drug Use, Peer Pressure, His Love for the Game of Football and Investing in your Community’s Future.

This is a powerful message, and Stater Bros. is happy to offer this inspiring presentation free of charge. To schedule Mark’s presentation, please feel free to contact the Stater Bros. Public Relations Department at (909) 733-5038 or publicrelations@staterbros.com.

Hunger Relief

Each year, Stater Bros. donates over 3 million pounds of unsold items that are still healthy and fit for consumption to Second Harvest Food Bank serving Riverside and San Bernardino Counties and Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino Food Bank.  In San Diego County, Stater Bros. donates directly to local community food programs.

Harvesting Hope

Throughout the months of November and December, Stater Bros. and its  charitable arm Stater Bros. Charities conduct an urgently needed campaign to  help local families who are faced with hunger in the communities where  Stater Bros. customers and employees live and work. The “Harvesting Hope”  Campaign collects food and provides funding to over 100 food banks and  emergency food providers in Southern California. During this time period,  additional funds are also collected at every Stater Bros. check stand, and  these funds are donated back into the community during the summer when  food reserves are traditionally low.

Military Support

Medal of Honor Memorial
The Riverside National Cemetery is home to the Medal of Honor Memorial, one of four sites in the United States recognized by the U.S. Congress as a National Medal of Honor Memorial site. The Medal of Honor Memorial, whose walls feature the names of all Medal of Honor Recipients, is located at the third traffic circle in the cemetery. In December 2009, it was the site of a committal service for Medal of Honor Recipient Col. Lew Millett. The Memorial was dedicated at a ceremony attended by 85 Medal of Honor Recipients on November 5, 1999. Stater Bros. was proud to be one of the major sponsors of the Medal of Honor Memorial.

POW/MIA Statue
On July 5, 2002, Stater Bros. Markets transported the bronze POW/MIA Memorial Statue from Hesperia, where it was made, to the Riverside National Cemetery, where it is now permanently displayed. The convoy included the Stater Bros. flatbed truck, another Stater Bros. truck and trailer rig, and two California Highway Patrol cars. It stopped briefly at the then-Stater Bros. Corporate Offices in Colton, California. This POW/MIA Statue was sculpted by Artist Lewis Lee Millett Jr., son of Medal of Honor Recipient Col. Lewis Millett.

Reservists
Stater Bros. was the first to announce protection for the jobs of the company’s reservists when they are called to active duty, by continuing the pay their weekly wages minus military pay as well as the medical, dental and vision benefits for their families. Over 200 Stater Bros. “Family” members have been called to active duty and many continue to serve today.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's PRCA Pro-Rodeo

The rodeo proceeds benefit the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the Inland Empire, the Inland Empire 4H Club and Challenged Children’s Rodeo as well as the Sheriff’s Posse's and Sheriff’s Rangers.
